"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." (Romans 12:4-5)
Should I join a group?
Absolutely! We believe that being a part of a community is a vital part life and our faith journeys. It is in the context of community that we we find belonging, are encouraged and challenged, and are invited into engaging in mission together. All people are encouraged to be plugged into a group.
At Newsong LA, we have three types of groups which you can join: Small Groups, Community Groups, and Learning Groups.
Small Groups
Small Groups are where groups of people gather together to explore God's word together, to do life together, and pursue God in the company of friends. We have small groups that are geographically based (spread out around West LA and the South Bay). We also have some groups which are affinity based.
Small groups help us grow in our faith and build community. We meet in different neighborhoods or online, and meet at different times throughout the week. Small groups typically range from 8-15 people per group.
Learning Groups are groups which are focused on growing in knowledge and practical skills, whether digging more deeply into Scripture or exploring important issues in life. Our Thursday Night Bible Study meets throughout the year, while other learning groups are seasonal.
